India's spin legend Harbhajan Singh addressed the criticism over their 'Tauba Tauba' dance video, clarifying that their intention was not to offend anyone but to reflect the soreness in their bodies after the tournament. The India Champions made history by defeating the Pakistan Champions in the final of the World Championship of Legends 2024. Under the leadership of Yuvraj Singh, they played outstanding cricket throughout the competition and triumphed over their arch-rivals to win the title. Following the tournament victory, Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh shared a humorous reel on their Instagram account. The video, set to the popular 'Tauba Tauba' song, was meant to highlight their physical soreness after the matches.

Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and Raina were seen limping and holding their backs in the video, illustrating the physical strain their bodies endured during the tournament. They shared the video with the caption:

 

"Body ki Tauba Tauba ho Gayi in 15 dayslegends cricket... Every part of the body is sore. Straight competition to our brothers @vickykaushal09 @karanaujla our version of Tauba Tauba dance. What a SONG."

 

After posting the video, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh had to face massive backlash and criticism. A police complaint was even filed against them by the executive director of the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP), alleging that they mocked people with disabilities in the video.

 

Moreover, they were heavily criticised for appearing to troll the Pakistan Champions team. During the game, Misbah-ul-Haq left the field injured and limping, leading many to accuse them of taking a jibe at the injured player.

Harbhajan Singh's apology on Tauba Tauba reel

 

Harbhajan Singh issued a statement amidst all criticism, clarifying that they did not intend to hurt anyone. He apologized for any offense caused and has since deleted the reel. On his Twitter account, he stated:

 

"Just wanted to clear to our people who are complaining about our recent videos of Tauba Tauba on social media...We didn't want to hurt anyone's sentiments. We respect every individual and community and this video was just to reflect on our bodies after playing continuous cricket for 15 days. SORE bodies.. we're not trying to insult or offend anyone.. still if people think we have done something wrong .. All I can say from my side SORRY to everyone .. plz let's stop this here and move forward. Stay happy and healthy. Love to all. Regards," Harbhajan's social medai post read.

 

 

India Champions emerged victorious in a thrilling final against Pakistan Champions, winning by five wickets. Batting second, they successfully chased down a target of 157 runs to claim the title.
