India’s T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been signed by the Melbourne Renegades for the upcoming season of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).
Melbourne Renegades informed the fans via Twitter about Kaur’s signing. Meanwhile, the destructive batter in a tweet expressed her excitement on joining the Renegades.
“Super excited to be joining the Renegades," she tweeted.
Kaur is the second Indian after Jemimah Rodrigues to join the franchise.
In the past, Kaur has represented the defending champions Sydney Thunder in the WBBL and the Manchester Originals in the inaugural edition of ‘The Hundred’. In 35 matches for the Sydney Thunder, the Indian batter had scored 713 runs at a strike-rate of 116.89 including three fifties and scalped 12 wickets at an economy rate of 7.53.
The other Indians who have been signed by various WBBL franchises for the upcoming season include Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma for Sydney Thunder and Shafali Verma, Radha Yadav for Sydney Sixers.
