Pakistan’s medium pacer Hasan Ali had an eventful first session on Day 1 of the second Test against Bangladesh. Ali had an injury scare on the fifth ball of his first innings. In an attempt to dismiss debutant Tanzid Hasan Tamim, he fell awkwardly and his head hit the pitch. The 31-year-old had to be stretchered off the field and the physio held his head to prevent further injury. These were not good indications for Pakistan who had lost the first Test of the series. Concussion replacement of Ali was being discussed in the commentary box but after the 15th over, the pacer was back on the field.
It seemed like an Ahmed Shehzad moment when he was stretchered off the field during a T20I against West Indies after a collision with an opposition player. Later, he was cleared by the medical staff and came to the field.
Hasan Ali was brought into the attack in the 19th over by Shan Masood. He was also warned by the umpire for hovering around the danger area. In the first session, he bowled 4.5 overs, including one maiden and conceded 13 runs. His first over was completed by Pakistan's T20I captain Salman Agha.

Pakistan take early wickets on Day 1
In the first session, Bangladesh had lost three wickets for 101 runs. Mohammad Abbas struck with the second ball, dismissing Mahmudul Hasan Joy. In the 10th over, Abbas dismissed Tanzid caught and bowled for a 34-ball 26. Mominul Haque was building a partnership but Khurram Shahzad knocked him over.
Pakistan drop Shaheen, Babar returns
Earlier, Masood won the toss and opted to bowl first at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Shahzad, Babar and Sajid walked into the side after a loss in the first game. Imam-ul-Haq, Shaheen Afridi and Noman Ali were dropped.
Pakistan docked 8 points
Pakistan's World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 campaign resumed poorly. They didn't just lose to Bangladesh but were docked eight points by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for maintaining slow over rate. As a result, they find themselves placed eighth on the points table with just four points.
