However, as per a Cricinfo report, there is optimism that he could still recover in time for the third and final match of the series. England management announced that Ollie Robinson would undergo a scan after experiencing knee soreness during a training session at Hove on Friday. In a corresponding move, Robinson's Sussex teammate Henry Crocombe was immediately drafted into the squad as cover.

Medical scans have since revealed no significant structural damage to the knee. However, England team management has decided not to risk the fast bowler for the upcoming match at The Oval, which begins on Wednesday. The current plan is to monitor his progress in hopes that he can return to the lineup for the series finale at Trent Bridge.
Robinson's absence compounds selection headaches for England, who are already missing star players Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson due to disciplinary reasons. Robinson had only just returned to the Test arena at Lord's after a two-year absence from the national team, where he brilliantly spearheaded the attack to claim career-best match figures of 7/77.
