'I read somewhere that...': Mayank Yadav reveals how a viral 'quote' in name of Ratan Tata changed his life

Indian young speedster who created limelight with his speed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 revealed that he got an offer to join the Navy before entering into cricket. However, he left the job to pursue the sport. Yadav revealed he followed a quote claimed to be said by industrialist Ratan Tata. 

He revealed that his coach was angry with him after he rejected the job offer because there was a fear that an injury impact his career as a bowler. In an attempt to make sense of his life, he started to read the Bhagavad Gita. Yadav says that his life changed only after seeing a quote by Ratan Tata on social media. Yadav said, “I read somewhere that Ratan Tata said, ‘I don’t believe in taking right decisions; I take decisions, then I make them right’. That clicked for me,” quoted The Indian Express.

However, the legendary industrialist never said that quote and it was a statement made on social media.

Mayank Yadav is currently featuring in the T20I series against Bangladesh where he made his India debut under Suryakumar Yadav's captaincy. He picked up one wicket in the second T20I played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Ratan Tata died

Ratan Naval Tata, the Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, has passed away at the age of 86 due to age-related health issues at Breach Candy Hospital.

He was admitted to the hospital on Monday, leading to widespread speculation about his health in corporate, political, and public circles.

Later, he released a statement indicating that he was undergoing routine medical examinations for age-related health concerns.

Reports emerged that he was placed on life support, but Tata Group officials neither confirmed nor denied this information.

N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, expressed deep sorrow, stating, "It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Mr. Ratan Naval Tata, a truly extraordinary leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation."

The Indian government honored Tata with its second-highest civilian award, the Padma Vibhushan, in 2008. He received numerous other awards, honors, and honorary doctorates from various Indian and international universities, recognizing his significant contributions and achievements.
