Dinesh Karthik lavished praise on Rohit Sharma's approach in ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Former India wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik hails all-rounders for their performance in the recently concluded ODI series against Sri Lanka. However, India lost that series by 2-0 and Sri Lanka created history by defeating India in a bilateral series after 27 long years.

Karthik also lavished praise on debutant Riyan Parag for his bowling performance against Sri Lanka where he picked up three wickets by conceding 54 runs in nine overs. Apart from Parag, Indian captain Rohit Sharma was also seen attacking the bowlers as he was the highest run-getter with 157 runs.

Even though it was a tour to forget for Indian players and fans, former India batter Dinesh Karthik, during a Cricbuzz show, picked the biggest positives for India from the recently concluded series.

“The biggest positive is the fact that India played all-rounders and bravely attacked. So that is something I really like. No. 2 Riyan Parag, in his limited opportunities, is showing what he can do with the ball, which is again a small plus for us. Other than that, I think Rohit’s batting is itself. The way he starts in powerplay. He is making batting look too easy in the series. Batted beautifully. These were the positives for me from this series” said Karthik.

Team India are currently on a break and they will now feature in the Test series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start next month. India veteran speedster Mohammed Shami will also most likely to make a comeback in that series, this will be his first outing for India since ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
