India's star batter Shubman Gill is finally reaping harvest for his back-to-back batting blitz as he has achieved a career-best position in the latest ICC ODI Batting Rankings on Wednesday (April 5). India's star opener Gill jumped to fourth spot in the batting charts while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are also stationed in the top-10 list. Gill has garnered 738 points which is just two points behind Pakistan's Imam-ul-Haq who grabs the no.3 spot.
South Africa's Quinton de Kock's slump from no.4 to no.7 lifted Gill's rank in the batters' standings. The 23-year-old amassed 57 runs in recently-concluded three ODIs against Australia in India's 2-1 series loss in March. But he has been all guns blazing in the ODI format which has seen three cracking centuries in the calendar year.
Meanwhile Kohli, who has garnered 427 runs riding on two blistering tons in ODIs followed by a half century in the ongoing year, advanced to a spot to seventh. On the other hand Indian skipper Rohit remained static at eighth spot in the list which is dominated by Pakistan's Babar Azam.

As far as bowling ranking is concerned, there is only one Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj, who is in the top-10 list, which is led by Australia's star speedster Josh Hazlewood. Siraj grabs the third spot, just behind New Zealand's Trent Boult. New Zealand’s Matt Henry made substantial gains, climbing five places to land on the fifth slot in the ODI bowling rankings from number 10.
South Africa's Aiden Markram gained 13 spots to reach 41st position in the batting chart and 16 places to 32nd in the all-rounders' list, another career-best feat in both the departments as South Africa beat the Dutch 2-0 in their three-match series in Johannesburg.
In the T20I Player Rankings, Suryakumar Yadav retained his top position among batters, while Hardik Pandya remained static on second in the all-rounders' list. Bangladesh's Litton Das rose one spot to reach 21st position, his highest career ranking so far, sharing the spot with New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell, who climbed five places from 26. This is also Mitchell's career-best ranking while his previous best was 25th.
Sri Lanka's Kariyawasa Asalanka is tied with Scotland's George Munsey for 23rd place after jumping 12 spots.
In the men’s T20I bowling rankings, Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana has jumped three spots to reach 10th while Bangladesh's Taskin Ahmed has gone up three places to 36th.
In the Test rankings, Kane Williamson has climbed four spots to become the second-ranked Test batter behind Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne. Steve Smith, Joe Root, Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Australia’s Travis Head have all thus fallen down one spot, to be ranked third, fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
