Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the Bangladesh squad for the second and final Test against Zimbabwe, which is scheduled to take place at April 28 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The Asian side have added an in-form opener Anamul Haque and an uncapped left-arm spinner, Tanvir Islam, into their squad for the final Test.
Anamul Haque is in line to play his first Test match after almost three years since he won a recall to Bangladesh's squad for the second and final Test against Zimbabwe in Chattogram.
Anamul's last international red-ball outing came during June 2022 against West Indies, but the 32-year-old earns a call-up to a 15-player squad on the back of some excellent efforts at the domestic level.
Featuring for Gazi Group in the Dhaka Premier League, the right-handed batter smashed consecutive centuries, and he could be in contention to add to his five previous Test appearances as Bangladesh attempt to square their two-match series at home against Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe has already defeated Bangladesh by three wickets in the opening Test of the series in Sylhet and Bangladesh have responded by making two changes to their squad for the second Test. Tanvir Islam and Anamul came into the squad in place of opener Zakir Hasan and pacer Nahid Rana.
Bangladesh cricket are currently at its lowest, they registered their last Test win in 2024 against Pakistan at Rawalpindi International Stadium in Rawalpindi on September 3.
