Kolkata Knight Riders's leading wicket-taker Varun Chakravarthy in the recently concluded edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 expressed his heartbreak with a cryptic post on social media after not being named in the 15-member Indian squad for the upcoming 5-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. The spinner had a wonderful season and was one of the key players in KKR's third title win. Varun posted a story where he said he wished he also had a paid PR agency.
Varun Chakravarthy's heartbreaking posts
BCCI named Shubman Gill as the captain of the Indian team which will play in Zimbabwe. They also named five debutants including Riyan Parag and Abhishek Sharma. Varun Chakravarthy who made his debut during the T20 World Cup 2021 was expected to be one of the members of the ZIM tour following his astonishing performance but was not included in the team. Varun took 21 wickets in 14 matches with a stunning average of 19.14.

Varun was obviously not happy about it and wrote “I wish I had a paid PR agency” on his Instagram story. In the next slide he posted a quote that stated “God, grant me serenity to accept things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference”. The posts from the star spinner are creating a lot of buzz on the internet now.
India squad for Zimbabwe
"The Men’s Selection Committee has picked a 15-member squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. India will visit Harare in the first week of July to participate in a 5-match T20I series against the hosts," said BCCI in their official media release.
