Australia A wicketkeeper-batter Maddy Darke starred with an unbeaten 105 on Day 3 of unofficial Test and helped her side set a target of 289 for India A. The hosts dominated the proceedings on Day 3 as India A face an uphill task after losing six wickets. Raghvi Bist and Uma Chetry need to pull off their best as India A need 140 runs to win with four wickets in hand.
Maddy hits century
Australia A were 164/7 at Day 2, Stumps. Mani got the early wicket of Lilly Mills. The ninth-wicket partnership between Maddy and Grace Parsons helped Australia A get close to 250-run mark. The partnership was broken by Sayali Satghare. Grace scored 35 runs from 57 balls before getting bowled. Nicola Hancock held on to one end until Maddy got to her century. Priya Mishra wrapped up Australia A's innings with the wicket of Nicola who scored three runs from 32 balls. Australia A were bowled out for 260. Maddy remained unbeaten for 105 off 197 balls including four fours. Minnu was the pick of the bowlers taking six wickets for 92 runs.
Impressive start
In reply, India A got off to a cautious start. They did not lose any wicket to the new ball. Charli Knott got the wicket of Shweta Sehrawat. She scored 21 runs from 49 balls. Priya and Shubha Satheesh shared a 52-run partnership for the second wicket. Lily dismissed Priya who scored 36 runs from 108 balls including seven fours.
India lose wicket in last session
Tejal Hasabnis fell for a single-digit score to Grace. Shubha missed her half-century and fell to Tess Flintoff. She scored 45 runs from 98 balls. Skipper Minnu could not do much with the bat and got stumped off Charli's bowling. India A were 149/6 at the end of Day 3's play. Raghvi scored 16 runs from just 65 balls. Uma remained unbeaten for 10 runs from 29 balls. It will be a herculean task for Raghvi and Uma to chase down the target on Day 4, the final day of the unofficial Test.
