The upcoming major ICC event Champions Trophy 2025 is currently set to be hosted by Pakistan. However, ahead of ICC or PCB an English publication has revealed a potential schedule for the mega tournament. As per their report, Pakistan will be facing New Zealand in the tournament opener, and the high-octane clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan will take place on March 1 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. However, BCCI has not given its consent to the tentative schedule. The tournament will be held from February 19 to March 9 with March 10 being the Reserve Day for the Final.
Lahore to host all of India's matches
As per the report, PCB has appointed Lahore as the official venue for all of the Men in Blue games for security and logistical reasons. India is in Group A along with Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. On the other hand, Group B consists of Australia, South Africa, England, and Afghanistan.

Rohit to lead India in Champions Trophy
BCCI secretary Jay Shah has revealed that after the success of the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024, Rohit Sharma will also be leading the Indian cricket team in the upcoming editions of WTC Final and Champions Trophy next year.
"I want to congratulate Team India for this historic win. I want to dedicate this triumph to skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, (outgoing) head coach Rahul Dravid and Ravindra Jadeja. This was our third final in the last one year. We lost (to Australia, at the Oval) in June 2023. In November 2023, we scored 10 wins (in the ODI World Cup) and won the hearts of the people, but couldn't win the World Cup (India lost to Australia in the final). I am confident that under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, we will win the WTC Final and the Champions Trophy," Shah said in a video posted by the BCCI.
