India to play 4 Tests, 3 ODIs and 14 T20Is in 2021-22 home season

A hectic home season awaits the Indian cricket team after T20 World Cup. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced the schedule for home season. It is going to be a and busy season for the players as India’s home season will begin in November and will end by the second week of June next year. India’s first opposition for their long home season will be New Zealand. 

  

Season packed with 4 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 14 T20Is 

 

India have a chance to avenge the World Test Championship defeat as they will play two Tests followed by three T20Is against the Kiwis from November 17 to December 3. India will have a new T20I captain for the New Zealand series as Virat Kohli has announced that he will be stepping down from the post after T20 World Cup. BCCI has not announced his successor but Rohit Sharma is likely to lead the side in the shorter format of the game. 

 

After a month, West Indies will visit India for two ODIs and three T20Is from February 6 to February 20. Just five days after the West Indies series, India will be on the field again facing Sri Lanka in two Tests and three T20Is. It will be followed by a five-T20I series against South Africa from June 9 to June 20.  

 

This home season is going to be a big test for the Indian team before their foreign tours. India will be touring England and West Indies right after their home season followed by Asia Cup.

Dec 03-07: 2nd Test, Mumbai

March 5-9: 2nd Test, Mohali
March 13: 1st T20, Mohali
March 15: 2nd T20, Dharamshala
March 18: 3rd T20, Lucknow
