Star Indian wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan who was ruled out of the first round of Duleep Trophy 2024 due to an injury, made a shocking return in round 2 by becoming part of India C's playing XI. This was a surprising appearance as when the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the updated squads for the Duleep Trophy, Ishan was not named in any of the squads. During the round 1, he was named in Team D before being ruled out due to an injury and being replaced by Sanju Samson.
According to media reports, Ishan was out of the first match due to injury. Additionally, there were also talks around him being out of the tournament as well. When BCCI announced the updated squad for the second round of the Duleep Trophy two days ago, Ishan Kishan's name was not in it too, but just before the second round started on Thursday, Ishan was included in the India C team led by Rituraj Gaikwad. He replaced Aryan Juyal for the match against India B.
