The third edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) player auction is set to take place in Bengaluru on December 15. The BCCI released the shortlisted players' list for the mini-auction on Saturday, with a significant number of overseas cricketers included in the first set.
A total of 120 players, comprising 29 overseas cricketers, 90 uncapped players, and 3 players from Associate nations, have been shortlisted for the auction. However, with the majority of players being retained by their respective franchises on November 7th, only 19 slots remain available for new signings.
Only six Indian players, including star all-rounder Sneh Rana, are included in the initial set of 20 players. Among the overseas players, Deandra Dottin, Lizelle Lee, and Heather Knight have set their base price at Rs 50 lakh, making them the most sought-after players in the auction.

Who won the WPL 2024 title?
Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) broke their title drought and won their first WPL title in 2024. They defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by eight wickets in the final of the second season of the Women's Premier League.
