Fashion designer Masaba Gupta criticised Ramiz Raja for laughing at a racist comment about her parents.

Masaba Gupta, a renowned fashion designer and actress, publicly reprimanded former Pakistani cricketer Ramiz Raja for his insensitive reaction to a racist comment directed at her parents, West Indies batting legend Vivian Richards and veteran actor Neena Gupta.

Taking to social media, Masaba expressed her disappointment in Raja's lack of grace and decorum in the face of such an offensive remark. Her criticism stemmed from a two-month-old video that recently resurfaced on social media, showing Raja laughing at the derogatory comment made on a Pakistani TV news channel.

"Dear Ramiz Raja (sir) grace is a quality few have. My father, mother and I have it in spades. You have none.

"Sickening to see you laugh on national TV in Pakistan at something the world stopped laughing at about 30 years back. Step into the future. All 3 of us are here with our chin up. #ramizraja," Masaba wrote in an X post.

Masaba responded to an old video of Raja laughing at a rude comment about her parents on a Pakistani TV show. In the video, Raja chuckled as a comedian joked that Vivian had broken Neena's heart by dating her.

Neena and Vivian, who had Masaba out of wedlock, lived separately throughout their lives. Masaba, born on November 2, 1989, was raised by Neena alone. In 2008, Neena married chartered accountant Vivek Mehra. Vivian visited India in January 2023 to attend Masaba's wedding with Satyadeep Misra.

Masaba was extremely happy to tie the knot in the presence of her two fathers. She shared an adorable family photo with the caption, “For the first time ever - My whole life came together. This is us. My beautiful blended family. Everything from here on is just bonus.”
