The England all-rounder snubbed current India captain Rohit Sharma from his list.

India have produced some of the biggest and best cricketers the sport has ever seen. Hence, naming the top 5 players from a vast pool can be a daunting and even excruciating task. Star England all-rounder Moeen Ali recently named his top 5 Indian cricketers of all time and, since the English all-rounder's revelation, social media has been on an overdrive. Ali named former India captain and wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni at the No.1 position on his list.

"For me No. 1 is Dhoni. He was a great player but people forget how good he was. It is everything he won as a captain for India," Ali told Samp Army.

Ali named maverick India batter Virat Kohli at the No.2 position on his list and provided an apt explanation about his choice.

"Virat (Kohli) No.2 because he is great and one of the best players," said Ali.

Moving forward, the veteran England all-rounder named Sachin Tendulkar at the No.3 position on his list.

"It pains me to say this but he (Sachin) is No.3 because of him being Sachin and I think he started the (art) of proper batting. There was Sunil Gavaskar as well but he was before my era so I didn't see a lot of him. But Sachin was just different level," Ali opined.

Former India opener and explosive batter, Virender Sehwag earned the No.4 position on Ali's list. The England all-rounder affirmed that Sehwag was his 'favourite' batter.

"My favourite batter is Virender Sehwag because he was something different. The way he batted in Test matches, ODIs and T20s, he scored massive and he absolutely destroyed bowlers," Ali said.

At the No.5 position, Ali named one of the greatest white-ball cricketers of all time Yuvraj Singh.

"The guy I looked up to as a batter...in terms of...of course I would try to copy up to a certain extent and people have compared me to him a little bit so it's Yuvraj Singh. The bat swing, the way he played and his bat swing was amazing to watch. When in form, he was the best player to watch," Ali added.
