Former India captain and wicketkeeper batter, MS Dhoni was known for hitting massive sixes, winning matches for India and cool demeanour in under-pressure situations. The two-time World Cup-winning Indian skipper (T20 World Cup in 2007 and ODI World Cup in 2011) was also known for his supreme fitness that enabled him to become one of the fastest when it came to running between the wickets. Still, even at the age of 41 years old, Dhoni maintains an elite fitness level. Reaching greater heights in terms of fitness requires a ton of sacrifice and discipline, particularly in diet. And Dhoni makes sure that he never comprises with fitness even if that means eating only gravy from butter chicken.
Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa, who also played for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), recently revealed Dhoni's weird eating habit while recollecting old dressing room stories.
"We used to always eat together. We had a group: Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh, Piyush Chawla, Munaf (Patel), MS and me. We would order dal makhni, butter chicken, jeera aloo, gobi and rotis. But MS is a very rigid person when it comes to eating. He would eat butter chicken but without the chicken, only with the gravy! When he ate chicken, he wouldn't eat the rotis. He is quite weird when it comes to eating,” he said in an episode of ‘My Time With Heroes' on JioCinema.
Meanwhile. Uthappa was part of the India Maharajas squad in the 2023 Legends League Cricket (LLC). The Maharajas suffered a heavy 85-run loss against the Asia Lions in the Eliminator game on March 18 (Saturday) and bowed out of the competition.
Talking about MS Dhoni, the CSK captain is gearing up to participate in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
