Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim created history at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka on Day 2 of the second Test against Ireland. Rahim became the 11th batter in Test cricket history to score a century in his 100th Test.
Rahim joined the list of legendary players like Ricky Ponting, Gordon Greenidge and others. He is the third Asian batter to achieve the feat. Before him, Pakistan’s Javed Miandad and Inzamam-ul-Haq had scored a century in their respective 100th Test.
On Day 1, Rahim remained unbeaten on 99 off 187 balls. Bangladesh had 292/4 on the board. On Day 2, Rahim played a maiden over against Matthew Humphreys. In the 92nd over, he got the strike off the second ball. On the third ball of the over, he played the ball wide of square leg to reach his century. This is his 13th Test century. He also equalled the record for most Test centuries for a Bangladesh batter. Mominul Haque has 13 Test tons to his name as well.

Earlier, on November 19, Mushfiqur was presented with several mementos including a signed team jerseys from both the sides. Mushfiqur thanked his family, teammates, friends and coaches for their support.
