Nitish Rana was in tears after reaching his half-century.

West Delhi Lions suffered a batting collapse and lost to South Delhi Superstarz by 10 wickets.

West Delhi Lions' Nitish Rana has chosen to continue playing in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 after losing his mother on August 7 after an illness. On August 17, Rana scored a half-century against South Delhi Superstars. After getting to the milestone, Rana looked up at the sky, remembering his mother. Rana got emotional and was consoled by teammate Krish Yadav, South Delhi Superstarz' wicketkeeper Tejasvi Dahiya and the on-field umpires. As he shed tears, the umpires called for a drinks break to help Rana. The batter washed his face and continued to bat.

Rana has been wearing a jersey with his late mother's name 'N Satish'. In the video posted on Instagram by DPL and shared by Delhi Capitals (DC), Rana’s wife, Saachi Marwah commented: “Mumma is here with you”.
