No Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma; BCCI announces official squads for Duleep Trophy 2024-25 first round - check all four captains

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have not been named in any of the teams.

BCCI has officially announced all four squads for the first round of the upcoming edition of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25 season. The tournament will commence on September 5 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and M Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have not been named in any of the teams for the first round. Many senior players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shreyas Iyer are going to be a part of this tournament.

 

Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, are some other big names that are missing in these squads. Ishan Kishan has been included and this tournament will be crucial for his return route to the Indian team. Shubman Gill, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shreyas Iyer are the captains of Teams A, B, C, and D respectively.

 

BCCI announces squads

 

“The Men’s Selection Committee on Wednesday announced the squads for the first round of the Duleep Trophy, 2024-25. The Duleep Trophy, which marks the beginning of red-ball cricket in the domestic season, will see some of the finest players from the international circuit and some of the young and emerging talent compete at the highest level. The tournament is set to begin from September 5, 2024, in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru,” wrote BCCI in their official statement.

 

“The athletes who will be selected to represent India for the home Test series against Bangladesh will be replaced in the Duleep Trophy. Nitish Kumar Reddy’s participation in the Duleep Trophy is subject to fitness,” the statement further added.
