Once clocked 150 kmph, Indian pacer to switch teams ahead of new domestic season

Out of favour Indian pacer, Varun Aaron on August 29 (Monday) announced that he will switching teams ahead of the new domestic season. Aaron, who was a veteran member of Jharkhand's squad, will ply his trade for Baroda in the next domestic season. While announcing his decision, the 32-year-old said he is 'looking forward' to the next challenge.

 

"Goodbyes are never easy!! As I leave the jharkhand team @cricketjsca, which has been my cricketing home for the last 18 years, I am going on to represent Baroda @cricbaroda in the upcoming domestic season. Looking forward to a great season with the boys in Baroda," the experienced pacer said in a Tweet. 

The right-arm pacer burst into the scene through his ability to bowl fast. Aaron became a household name when he was picked for the national team for his potential to clock speed in excess of 140 kmph on a regular basis. However, Aaron was quickly sidelined as he lacked disciplined. The veteran pacer is on the short list of Indian fast bowlers who have clocked 150 kmph in an international game. 

 

The 32-year-old has represented India in nine Test matches and as many ODIs, bagging 18 and 11 wickets respectively. In the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022), Aaron was with the title-winning franchise, Gujarat Titans, for whom he played two matches and bagged two wickets at an economy rate of 10.40. 

 

The right-arm paceman has a ton of experience as he has been playing in the domestic circuit for a long time now. He has played 63 First-Class matches, 73 List A matches and 89 T20s in his career so far.
