The Pakistan cricket coaching staff has taken a hit as another member of their support staff has resigned from their position. Their bowling coach Ashley Noffke will leave the Pakistan coaching staff after their Asian Games 2026 campaign in Japan. Noffke has signed a two-year deal with Netherlands for the head coach role.
Noffke's original contract was not up for renewal or expiration until June 2027. In July 2026, fielding coach Shane McDermott left as well. A few months earlier, Pakistan's white-ball batting coach Hanif Malik and their physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon had stepped down from their roles as well after conclusion of ODI series against Australia at home.

Recently, Noffke was called at up in the middle of the night to join white-ball head coach Mike Hesson in England as part of major shake-up in the Test coaching staff following Lord’s Test defeat. It was in aftermath of Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) knee-jerk reaction to sack red-ball head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul.
Noffke had taken over as bowling coach of Pakistan's white-ball side in May 2025. Now, he will take over the reigns in the Dutch support staff from outgoing head coach Ryan Cook as they look to qualify for the ODI World Cup 2027. Noffke is set to stay there for the T20 World Cup 2028 as well.
"I'm looking forward to working with the Dutch men's team, which has become a fixture at the T20 World Cups," Noffke said in Netherlands board’s media release. "This is a talented, motivated group, and my goal is to help continue that development and move the programme forward. My approach starts with connection, before the tactic or the plan. I can't wait to get started."
Netherlands look to seal spots in ODI World Cup 2027, T20 World Cup 2028
The Netherlands team have guaranteed themselves a spot in ICC Men's ODI World Cup Qualifier. They are in the race for T20 World Cup 2028 as well. In the previous edition of ODI World Cup on Indian soil, the Dutch had beaten South Africa and Bangladesh. In T20 World Cup 2026, their only win came against Netherlands.
