Pakistan ended their four-game losing streak as the Babar Azam-led side beat West Indies by eight wickets in the second Test to level series 1-1 at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, on August 5. The first Test win in Port of Spain after 49 years helped Pakistan rise from the bottom and take the eighth place on the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 points table, pushing West Indies to the bottom again.
Pakistan's second Test win from six games in the ongoing cycle helped improve their win percentage to 22.22. The eight-point deduction due to slow over rate had led to their win percentage falling below 10. They are now slightly behind England who have a win percentage of 24.36. Pakistan will now look to go past England in the standings as their tour for three-Test series begins on August 19 at Headingley, Leeds.

On Day 4 of the second Test, Pakistan's left-arm spinner did not let the tail wag. He picked up a four-fer as West Indies were bowled out for 117 in 46.1 overs. Brandon King did not walk out to bat due to a back injury he sustained while fielding. Pakistan needed 75 runs to win the Test. Shamar Joseph dismissed Azan Awais whereas Jayden Seales got rid of Imam-ul-Haq. But, Abdullah Shafique and Babar's 24-run knocks took Pakistan over the line.
What’s next for West Indies?
West Indies now have just one Test series left in the current WTC cycle. They will tour Bangladesh for a two-Test series.
