In the month of July, the board headed by Mohsin Naqvi removed Wahab Riaz from this post. He was working as a selector and senior team manager in the team. But during his tenure, the team's performance was a complete flop. Now, many reports have come in, alleging that there is no discipline within the team. Controversies also came to light regarding Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam. It was being said that due to the dispute between the two, there was internal grouping in the team.

Talking about Cheema, he has managed the team before also. He took this responsibility during the tour of Australia and New Zealand. Both the tours took place in December 2023 and January 2024. After this tour, he was replaced by Mansoor Rana and Wahab Riaz became the senior manager of the team.

Bangladesh team has already reached Pakistan for the two-match test series. It was being said that this tour was on the verge of being canceled due to the coup in Bangladesh but things went ahead without any trouble. Now this tour will happen as per plan. Pakistan cricket team had performed very poorly in the last few months. The team could not reach the semi-finals in the ODI World Cup. In the T20 World Cup also, the team was out of the group stage for the first time.
