Former India cricketers Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh have joined the men's selection committee following the exit of S. Sharath and Subroto Banerjee. They will now be working alongside Ajit Agarkar, who is the head of the selection committee. This massive change has taken place in BCCI's Annual General Meeting (AGM). Meanwhile, S Sharath has been appointed as the Chairman of the junior selection committee
On the other hand, Mithun Manhas has now officially been appointed as BCCI's President, succeeding Roger Binny who stepped down from the role after turning 70 last month. Manhas, who formerly captained the Delhi team, has been named as the 37th President of the Indian cricket board at the AGM.
Prabhtej Singh Bhatia has replaced Rohan Gauns Desai as the joint secretary while Raghuram Bhat is the new treasurer for BCCI. Notably, Bhatia was previously the treasurer of the Indian cricket board. Both Rajeev Shukla and Devajit Saikia have retained their positions of vice-president and secretary respectively.
Pragyan and RP Singh's international careers
Meanwhile, both Pragyan Ojha and RP Singh featured for India in all the three formats. While Pragyan finished with a total of 144 international wickets, RP Singh clinched a total of 124 wickets in his international career. The latter was also a part of India's T20 World Cup winning squad back in 2017. Both the players were an important part of India's set-up at one stage.
