Before heading to Ireland for the upcoming T20I series, fast bowler Prasidh Krishna showcased his prowess for Mysuru Warriors in the KSCA Maharaja Trophy T20 tournament held in Bengaluru on Sunday. Prasidh, alongside other Indian cricket stalwarts including captain Jasprit Bumrah, is slated to depart for Ireland from Mumbai on August 15. The Indian team is set to compete in three T20Is against Ireland, scheduled on August 18, 20, and 23 at the picturesque Malahide in Dublin.

Using the KSCA T20 contest as a preparation ground, Prasidh was seen pushing his limits to adapt and sharpen his game skills before the crucial overseas series. The right-arm speedster demonstrated impressive form, bowling two fierce overs, claiming a wicket, and conceding only 13 runs. Emphasizing his match readiness, he took down his Karnataka team peer, Luvnith Sisodia, with a clean bowl, leaving him scoreless after three balls.

Yet, despite Prasidh's commendable efforts, the Warriors couldn't clinch a victory. The Tigers emerged triumphant, securing a nine-wicket win in the rain-affected clash at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

This wasn't Prasidh's maiden appearance in the KSCA T20 competition. Previously, he had featured in the G Kasturirangan Memorial Trophy segment of the tournament. Representing Mount Joy Cricket Club, he had a standout performance, bagging four wickets against Sir Syed Cricketers in a memorable match last month.

Prasidh's recent outings signal a promising return to form following an extended injury hiatus that kept him off the field for nearly a year. The Karnataka-born pacer's last international representation was in an ODI against Zimbabwe on August 20, 2022. The early part of 2023 saw the 27-year-old grappling with a lumbar stress fracture, which subsequently led to him missing the IPL 2023 season. Following a surgical intervention, Prasidh embarked on a recovery journey at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). With his recent performances, fans are eagerly anticipating his impactful return in the upcoming Ireland series.
