In what came as terrifying news, former India cricketer Praveen Kumar suffered a major car accident on July 4 (Tuesday) night. According to reports, Praveen and his son were in the car when a truck rammed into the vehicle in Meerut. The car was severely damaged but Praveen and his son escaped by the slimmest of margins. The extent of injury to Praveen and his son is still unknown. The accident occurred when Praveen was traveling in his car from Pandav Nagar. According to reports, the local police have arrested the speeding truck driver.
"It could have been a lot worse. By the grace of god we are okay and I am talking to you. I had gone to drop my nephew but a massive truck hit my car from behind around 9:30 pm. Thank God it was a big car, else there could have been injuries," Kumar told PTI.
“I initially thought just the bumper would be broken but the car is badly damaged,” he added.
The former India right-arm seamer represented the country in all three formats of the game. He bagged 27 wickets in six Tests, 77 wickets in 68 ODIs and eight wickets in 10 T20Is. He also scored a half-century with the bat in ODI cricket.
