India's star batter and long-time teammate of Rishabh Pant, Viray Kohli has sent his wishes to the wicketkeeper-batter after he met with a gruesome accident and was hospitalised in the wee hours of the morning on Friday.
The incident took place on the Delhi-Dehradun highway when Pant's car crashed into a divider. He was returning home from the national capital when he fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of his vehicle.
Kohli sent his wishes to Pant after the brutal incident. "Get well soon Rishabh Pant. Praying for your recovery," Kohli said on Twitter.
After his accident, Pant was admitted to the Saksham Hospital Multispecialty and Trauma Centre, located on the Narsan border of Roorkee near Hammadpur Jhal. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a statement on Pant’s injuries after the incident.
"Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment," the statement said.
"The BCCI is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh. The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase," it added.
As of recent reports, Pant has currently been shifted to the Max Hospital, Dehradun, where MRI scans will be conducted to determine the gravity of his injuries. After he was involved in the accident, a number of cricketers, including VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Taskin Ahmed, Litton Das and others wished for his recovery.
