Priya Sharma became a part of history after registering her name as one of the first Indian women to compete in "Road to UFC," Season 3. Demonstrating her determination and elite skillset at one of the biggest stages a mixed martial artist can compete. Priya along with Kiran Singh were the two women representing India at that stage. Her journey began with a humble background of judo and later transitioning into the world of MMA through grassroots competitions and amateur bouts. Priya's dedication to her training regimen, which also include spending time and learning with the renowned Hibas Family in Brazil. However, her home in India is team Warrior Cove, renowned for its elite background in BJJs.

Priya Sharma calls fighting in Road to UFC a dream

 

“How can I feel? It's like a dream come true and I'm super excited. It's super happy and I'm super proud that I'm representing India and being the first female fighter in road to UFC. I'd say it's like a dream,” said Priya Sharma in an exclusive conversation with Sports Tak.


Priya's personality outside the cage contrasted sharply with her focused demeanor inside it. This even earned her the admiration as a versatile athlete and a charismatic figure in the sport. Her participation in the Road to UFC not only highlighted her own skills but also opened doors for aspiring female fighters in India, inspiring a new generation to pursue their dreams in MMA. Her journey in "Road to UFC" Season 3 is an example of perseverance, breaking barriers, and representing her country with pride on the biggest stage. Both Priya and Kiran Devi suffered losses in the first stage itself but despite that have now opened the gates for many other stars to find their way inside the UFC. Anshul Jubli and Puja Tomar are the current Indian fighters in the UFC. Angat Bisht also competed in season 3 of Road to UFC and managed to pick a win and now will compete in the second round soon.
