Story Highlights:

Rajasthan Royals have reportedly sacked two more coaches

Rahul Dravid has already stepped down as Rajasthan Royals' head coach

Rajasthan Royals seem to continue their coaching overhaul following their disappointing performance in IPL 2025 and have reportedly sacked two important members of the support staff. This comes after head coach Rahul Dravid and CEO Jake Lush McCrum had recently departed from the franchise, leaving many fans shocked and confused.

However, the coaching overhaul doesn't seem to end for RR as according to a report by Cricbuzz, the franchise has decided to part ways with both Sairaj Bahutule and Dishant Yagnik, who were the side's spin bowling and fielding coach respectively. While Bahutule had joined RR just last year, Yagnik has been associated with them for a long time and even played for them from IPL 2011 to 2014. On the other hand, bowling coach Shane Bond and batting coach Vikram Rathour are expected to retain their positions despite the ongoing overhaul.

Sangakkara expected to take over from Dravid

Though the franchise is yet to confirm about it themselves, they have reportedly signed Kumar Sangakkara and he will be replacing Dravid as the team's head coach for the upcoming season. The Cricbuzz report further stated that Trevor Penney and Siddartha Lahiri, who have previously worked with Sangakkara can be roped in by RR.

On the other hand, RR skipper Sanju Samson's future with the franchise appears to be bleak and there is no guarantee as to if he will be featuring for them in the upcoming season or not. The 30-year-old has reportedly asked RR to replace or trade him before the auction. It now remains to be seen if the wicketkeeper-batter will be retained or not before the next season.

Meanwhile, RR had a forgetful IPL 2025 campaign as they finished ninth on the points table and missed out on making the playoffs. They only recorded four victories in 14 matches and finished with just eight points on the standings. They will definitely be hoping to improve their overall perfformance in IPL 2026.
