Shubman Gill is not stopping anytime soon. The Indian cricket team captain has etched his name in the record books, becoming the first batter in the world to score more than 3,000 runs in both Test and One-Day International cricket during the 2020s.
Gill has accumulated 3,043 runs in Tests and 3,363 runs in ODIs. The landmark in the longer format was achieved during the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, where the 26-year-old crossed the 3,000-run mark in his 43rd Test appearance.

Gill, who made his Test debut in December 2020 and his ODI debut in 2019, has been in outstanding form since taking on the captaincy. His dual milestone underscores a remarkable consistency across formats at a relatively young age.
Gill is also the fourth-youngest Indian to reach 3,000 Test runs, behind only Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Dilip Vengsarkar, surpassing legendary Kapil Dev. The Indian star continues to lead India in both red-ball and white-ball cricket, with his run-scoring under the captaincy armband drawing particular praise from observers.
