Rishabh Pant reveals the reason behind horrific car accident, says 'in the morning...'

In what came as devastating news on December 30 (Friday) morning, star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant sustained brutal injuries in a catastrophic car accident. Pant sustained serious injuries but remains out of danger and is currently admitted to Max Hospital in Dehradun.

Accident occurred around 5:15 am

According to the information accessed by Sports Tak, Rishabh Pant was traveling from Delhi to Roorkee in his BMW car when he met with an accident at Narsan border near Mohammadpur Jhal. The Indian cricketer was first admitted to Roorkee's Saksham Hospital and then taken to Dehradun. Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar revealed what Pant told him during their brief conversation.

In a conversation with Sports Tak, Uttarakhand DGP said that he spoke to Pant when the Indian cricketer was admitted to the hospital. Pant told Ashok Kumar that he was traveling from Delhi to Roorkee when he felt sleepy in the morning while driving the car and crashed into the divider. The Indian cricketer then revealed that he broke the windscreen to come out of the car.

Pant sustains serious injuries

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a statement and shed light on the numerous injuries sustained by Pant.

"Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back," BCCI said in a release.

"Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment," the statement added.
