Riyan Parag on his critics

Parag faced a lot of criticism during the rough patch of his career which was in the last season of the tournament where he just scored 78 runs in seven outings with an average of 13.

"Those who praise me today once criticized me. So I don't care about these things. My next goal is the Indian cricket team. Last time I went home alone when I returned to Assam. This time you have come to ask questions."

Earlier, during the IPL 2024 qualifier clash against India cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar slammed Parag for his approach in the tournament.

"Seriously, seriously? What's the use of all the talent if you are not going to think? What kind of shot is that, seriously? So much talent. If you don't have the temperament, it won't work. So what if you had a few dot balls? You can still make up for it," Gavaskar was heard as saying on commentary.
