The fame, exotic lifestyle and money involved in both professions often attract a ton of attention from the fans and instantaneously result in headlines. However, not all friendships and relationships end on a positive note, especially the ones involving a film star and a cricketer.
In the latest, star Indian wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant, who was rumoured to have been dating Bollywood beauty Urvashi Rautela in the past, took a cheeky dig at the 28-year-old actress that set social media in overdrive.
It all started when Rautela, in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, shed light on an individual who would wait for hours in order to meet her. Instead of publicly mentioning the name of the individual, Rautela addressed him as "RP", which happens to be the initials of Rishabh Pant.
Fans were quick to join the dots and Rautela's comments soon made headlines.
Following the 28-year-old's remark, Pant shared a cryptic post on his Instagram story but didn't directly mention the name of the individual for whom the message was meant.
In a post in which the left-handed batter seems to be defending himself, Pant wrote "It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meager popularity and for hitting headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them #merapichachorhoBehen #jhutkibhilimithotihai."
#merapichachorhoBehen meant - leave me alone sister while the other meant - there is a limit to lies.
Pant and Rautela reportedly dated for a brief period of time in 2018 and were often spotted together. However, the relationship soon went sour and the two parted ways mutually.
