Shikhar Dhawan, who recently announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket, is all set to play in Legends League Cricket. Dinesh Karthik will also feature in the Legends League cricket this year. The league features retired cricketers turning back time competing against each other. The tournament is played between six franchises. The six franchises are Konark Suryas Odisha, Gujarat Giants, Manipal Tigers, Southern Superstars, Hyderabad, and India Capitals.
The Legends League Cricket 2024 Auction scheduled on Thursday, 29th August, 2024 is still going on (while writing this copy). The auction was held at New Delhi.

Which team has picked Shikhar Dhawan and Dinesh Karthik?
Shikhar Dhawan will play for Gujarat Giants along with Chris Gayle and Lendl Simmons. Chris was fetched by RTM card while Simmons was bought at a price OF 37.56 lakhs. Gujarat already had Mohammad Kaif and S Sreeshant as icon players in the team. Kaif was even present in the auction table while buying the players. Shikhar Dhawan was DS (Directly signed ) by the franchise.
Dinesh Karthik after he retired from Royal Challengers Bengaluru, is also set to make history as the first Indian player in the SA20 league, representing Paarl Royals. He will represent the Southern Superstars in the Legends League. He will not just play, but will also be leading the side. The superstars has Parthiv Patel and Kedar Jadhav as the icon player. The franchise bought the likes of Jeevan Mendis, Shreevats Goswami and Hamilton Masakadza in the auctions. Karthik just like Dhawan was a direct signing.
