The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have announced the India A squad for the two multi-day matches against Australia A. The first match of the red-ball series is scheduled to start from September 16, 2025, and the second multi-day match will commence on September 23, 2025. Both matches will take place at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
India middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer, who missed his place in the Suryakumar Yadav-led Asia Cup 2025 squad, will lead the side in the two-match series against Australia A. India wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who played in the fifth and final Test at The Oval against England in their last assignment, has been named Iyer’s deputy.

BCCI also mentioned that veteran wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul and star speedster Mohammed Siraj will also join the squad, replacing two players after the multi-day match against Australia A.
"KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj will be added to the squad for the 2nd multi-day match and will replace two players in the squad after the 1st multi-day match" said BCCI in a press release.
Notably, both KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj featured together for the Shubman Gill-led side in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. After the Test series against England, both batters failed to get a spot in the Asia Cup squad as the management picked young players for the continental tournament.
The multi-day red-ball matches will be followed by three one-day games, scheduled to take place on September 30, 2025, October 03, 2025 and October 05, 2025, respectively, at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
