Cricket South Africa has named the squads for the upcoming tour of India, with separate teams selected for the Test and ODI series. The T20I squad will be announced at a later date. The multi-format series will see a three-match ODI series played in Bengaluru from June 16 to 23. This will be followed by a one-off Test match in Chennai on June 28. To wrap up the tour, a T20I series will be played from July 5 to 9.
Wolvaardt to Lead South Africa Women on India Tour
Laura Wolvaardt will take the reins as South African captain for both the Test and ODI series against India. Veteran all-rounder Nondumiso Shangase and wicket-keeper Sinalo Cele return to the squad, bolstering experience. On the other hand, injuries has sidelined Lara Goodall, Chloe Tyron, and Ayanda Hlubi. Tazmin Brits earned selection for both formats, but her participation hinges on overcoming ongoing fitness struggles. Her availability would be a significant boost for the South Africans.
Meanwhile, South Africa set up a pre-tour camp in Tshwane from June 4 to 8 to sharpen their skills before the series against India. A warm-up match in India on June 14 will serve as a final tune-up before the ODI series opener on June 16. The tour kicks off with a three-match ODI series in Bengaluru. The South Africans will then travel to Chennai for a one-off Test match and a T20I series, with the T20I squad announcement coming at a later date. The tour commences with three ODIs in Bengaluru, followed by a Test match in Chennai. The squad for the concluding T20I series will be revealed soon.

“Everyone's excited and looking forward to the tour to India. So far, preparation has been great. We had a big focus on options against spin and it was good to see the buy-in from the team. We also have new management involved, so this would be a great opportunity for them to find their feet before we come back and start our preparation for the [T20] World Cup,” Dillon Du Preez said.
