The match between these two sides went to the wire in the final over, and the tension and stress was palpable among the players and the coaching staff. During this moment the head coach of the Khulna Tigers decided that it was the best time to break out a cigarette in the dressing room and smoke!
The photo of Khaled Mahmud SMOKING during the fiercely-contested match has now gone viral on social media, with the fans also demanding strict action.
What happened?
The incident took place during the 42nd match of the ongoing BPL 2023 season between the Tigers and the team from Barishal. Mahmud — the coach of Khulna — was seen in the dressing room with his guilty pleasure. According to the rules, smoking in a public place is a punishable offence. The tournament officials are yet to respond with any kind of punishment for this act.

In the last over Bangladesh international Mehidy Hasan Miraz won his team the match with a six. Mehidy played an unbeaten inning of 64 runs off 43 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
Despite the victory, Khulna's team is out of contention for the knockout round of the BPL. The team have won only three in 12 matches this season.
