Australia will tour Zimbabwe for an ODI series after 12 years.

Zimbabwe had beaten Australia in their last ODI and T20I fixtures.

The mighty Australians are scheduled to tour Zimbabwe for a three-ODI series in September 2026 before heading to South Africa. Australia were recently beaten by Zimbabwe in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 which eventually led to them getting knocked out of the tournament. Australia will tour Zimbabwe for an ODI series for first time since 2014.

Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni is pleased to see reigning ODI world champions Australia coming for a tour. He sees it as an opportunity to play a top side at home.

"We are delighted to welcome Australia back to Zimbabwe for what promises to be a highly competitive ODI series," Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni said.

Australia chief selector George Bailey wants to keep refining the team leading up to the ODI World Cup 2027 on South African soil.

"I think the big reflection is that's a couple of World Cups now where our performances in bilateral (series) leading up to it have been incredibly strong, a really high win percentage and strong performances across the board, and then that hasn't quite translated to World Cups," Bailey told reporters on Wednesday.

"So why that is, we will continue digging into and refining and trying to get that better."
