Afghanistan batter Sediqullah Atal created T20 history in ongoing Kabul Premier League. Shaheen Hunters captain Atal smashed seven sixes in an over where Amir Zazai conceded a total of 48 runs. The southpaw scored 118 runs from 56 deliveries to help his side beat Abasin Defenders by 92 runs.

Atal punished the left-arm spinner who started off with a no ball in the penultimate over which was smashed for a six. He followed it up with a wide ball that was not collected by the wicketkeeper and went for five wides. Atal did not take his foot off the pedal and hit six sixes in a row to etch his name in T20 record books.

Earlier, Hunters were put to bat first. Top-order batters got out for single-digit scores as Hunters were reduced to 29/3 in five overs. They scored just 38 runs in the powerplay overs. The first six off Atal's bat came in the eighth over. Mohammad Ishaq played the role of perfect partner as Shaheens recovered from early wickets.

In the 14th over, he reached his half-century from 31 balls. The fourth-wicket partnership was broken in the 15th over. Ishaq scored 50 runs from 31 balls including four fours and one six. Atal and Ishaq shared a 101-run partnership.

In the next over, Mohammad Asif got out for a single-digit score. Another wicket fell in the 18th over. In the penultimate over, Atal went ballistic and got to his century from 48 balls. In the same over, 48 runs were scored including seven sixes. Naveen Zadran finished well as Hunters were restricted to 213/6. Atal remained unbeaten for 118 off 56 balls including seven fours and 10 sixes.

Defenders got off to a horrendous start. Said Khan and Esmatullah Habibi struck twice as Defenders lost four wickets for 22 in the fifth over. In the ninth over, Defenders lost their fifth wicket for 55. The sixth-wicket partnership prevented Defenders from getting bundled out below 100. Bahar Shinwari scored 20-ball 38 whereas skipper Farmanullah contributed with a 31-ball 42. Defenders got all out for 121 from 18.3 overs.
