Sports Tak Exclusive: Three holiday destinations where MS Dhoni spends most of his time

One of the greatest international careers came to an end on August 15, 2020, when former India captain MS Dhoni decided to call time on his glittering tenure with the senior men's national cricket team. The two-time World Cup-winning captain led India to three ICC titles (2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy) and forever etched his name in cricketing folklore. After the wicketkeeper-batter called time on his international career, millions of Dhoni fans have been wondering how the former India captain is spending his time post-retirement.

For around four months a year, Dhoni is occupied with the Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing and training for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Apart from the IPL, Dhoni spends one month each in the United Kingdom (UK), the United States of America (USA) and Dubai with his friends. Dhoni has also made a conscious effort to spend time with his parents in Ranchi, one thing which he couldn't do much off during his career with Team India.

IPL 2023 preparation

The wicketkeeper-batter will return to action in the 16th edition of IPL as he is slated to lead CSK in yet another season of the cash-rich tournament. The veteran cricketer has started preparation for the IPL at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

The right-handed willow-wielder is working on his craft in the nets for around 40 minutes along with spending some time in the gym in order to attain supreme fitness. When it comes to net sessions, the CSK captain is spending most of his time batting against the leg-spinners. Interestingly, Dhoni didn't face even a single pacer in the nets in Ranchi. The right-handed batter worked on his defense against spinners and also unleashed a couple of attractive shots in the nets.
