In an unfortunate incident outside the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Ekana on Monday, two women in their SUV car were crushed by a billboard during a strong wind storm that hit the city on June 5. There were two women and a man in the car and while the male escaped with injuries, the other two were not quite so fortunate.

A video of the incident has now surfaced and one can see that the person buried under the debris of the board was asking for help. It can be seen in the video that this huge board fell due to the storm. A crane was then used to remove the hoarding, under which a Scorpio was crushed.

This stadium of Lucknow is known as Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. In the year 2018, the first international match was played at this stadium. It is also the home ground for Indian Premier League (IPL) side Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

The hoarding in question has been used for publicity reasons. They were especially handy for the promotion of IPL matches, with LSG playing seven of their 11 matches at this stadium.

As soon as the incident took place, police arrived at the spot to rescue the affected members. The police took all three to hospital but the women could not survive. Later, the local authority cleared the place with the help of JCB.
