Earlier, Waseem won the toss and opted to bowl first. Bangladesh were without the services of Mustafizur Rahman, Mahedi Hasan and centurion of previous game Parvez Hossain Emon. Tanzid Hasan launched an onslaught and captain Litton Das joined in. In the third over, Das was given a second chance as his catch was dropped. Tanzid reached his fifty from just 26 balls in the powerplay overs. The opening partnership was broken by Saghir Khan in the 10th over. Tanzid hit eight fours and three sixes in his 33-ball 59.

Jawadullah in his third over broken the partnership with Shanto's wicket. He scored 27 runs from 19 balls.
