Central Delhi Kings' star Yash Dhull wreaked havoc with the bat in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 match against North Delhi Strikers on July 3, Sunday. In a sensational display of batting, India's Under-19 World Cup-winning captain cracked a blistering 101 runs from just 56 balls to lead Central Delhi Kings to a commanding eight-wicket win Over North Delhi Strikers. He is the same Yash Dhull, who remained unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction. However, he proved his batting prowess yet again by hammering the first century of the second season of the DPL.

Chasing a target of 175, Dhull delivered a batting masterclass, smashing a lightning 56-ball 101, which was decorated with eight fours and seven sixes. His composed and aggressive innings ensured the Central Delhi Kings reached their target comfortably, making it one of the standout performances of the tournament so far.

The 22-year-old last played in the IPL in 2023, where he struggled to make an impact, scoring only 16 runs in four innings with an average of 5.33. Throughout his entire IPL career, he managed to hit only one boundary, which led to his release from the league.

However, in his first appearance in DPL 2025 he showcased his true potential. Opening the batting, Dhull was aggressive from the start, taking on every bowler, including hitting Harshit Rana for two boundaries. He demonstrated his six-hitting ability against left-arm pacer Kuldip Yadav, with a powerful shot over the point region. Dhull reached his half-century in just 36 deliveries before accelerating ferociously. In the next 20 balls, he reached his century in style with a six and a four, becoming the first player to score a hundred in DPL 2025.

The Central Delhi Kings' batsmen were dominant throughout the chase. While Dhull's century was the highlight, he received excellent support from his teammates. Yugal Saini provided a crucial start with a fluent 36 from 24 balls, setting the tone with confident stroke play. Captain Jonty Sidhu then guided the team to victory with an unbeaten 23 from 19 deliveries, ensuring there were no late hiccups. It was a clinical display of batting from the Central Delhi side, showcasing their depth and composure as they completed the chase with plenty to spare.

Earlier, batting first, North Delhi Strikers had posted a strong total of 174/7 in their 20 overs. Their innings was built on the back of impressive performances from Sarthak Ranjan, who anchored the scoring with 82 from 60 balls, and Arnav Bugga, who provided valuable momentum with a quick-fire 67 from 43 deliveries.
