In a series of interesting updates, some new details on Monday's clash between Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Vishen Halambage after India A's loss to Sri Lanka A has emerged in the public.

New details on spat between Sooryavanshi and Halambage

According to the latest report by Cricbuzz, some senior Sri Lanka players have talked to Vaibhav and expressed regret over the altercation. Notably, these players are not the members of the Sri Lanka A team involved in the tri-series, but those who know Sooryavanshi through interactions in IPL.

As per the report, some players from Sri Lanka A contemplated on asking for forgiveness to the Indian team. However, it is uncertain if the apology has been conveyed or not. Although it has been claimed that Vishen Halambage had been trying to mess with the 15-year-old since the first clash.

The report claims that Halambage was reportedly trying to sledge the Indian player during that game and continued the same approach in the second game as well. The Sri Lankan player launched an aggressive remark towards the left-handed opener during the controversial Super Over, saying "Go home, this is not the IPL".

Following the end of the Super Over, Halambage was seen approaching Sooryavanshi before also directing his attention towards Suryansh Shedge. Sooryavanshi reacted to the confrontation, but Dickwella stepped in to calm the tempers.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's underwhelming form in Tri-Nation A Series

After enjoying a blockbuster individual campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, everyone expected that Sooryavanshi would continue the same form in the Tri-Nation A Series. However, things has been exactly opposite so far in the ongoing tri-series, as the 15-year-old batter has endured a silent campaign so far.

It would be wrong to say that he has struggled, as he has got a fiery start in all the three games, but has failed to convert those into big scores. The star-left handed opener has managed to amass only 79 runs in three innings, which does not justify his actual potential.

His best score of 44 off 22 balls came in India A's clash against Afghanistan A, where he smashed nine boundaries but failed to missed his well deserved half-century by just six runs.

Next challenge for India A

After the loss against Sri Lanka A, the Tilak Varma-led side will lock horns against Afghanistan A on Wednesday, June 17 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla. The game against Afghanistan will be a do-or-die clash as a loss will almost kick them out of the competition.
