Virat Kohli met his Under-15 roommate, Dwaraka Ravi Teja after a long gap of six years. While a lot has changed for Kohli in last six years, he still remembered the nickname they shared in their early days. The Andhra Pradesh-born batter met Kohli in England. The 34-year-old shared the first thing Kohli said on seeing him.

Ravi Teja revealed in a tweet that the duo used to watch famous Telugu movies' actor Chiranjeevi's songs on the television and dance to the tunes. Their love for Chiranjeevi's songs also led to the nickname 'Chiru' which both of them shared.

On July 12, Kohli missed India's first ODI of the three-ODI series against England. The former Indian skipper had sustained a mild strain in his groin after the third T20I.

However, Rohit Sharma-led India dominated England by bundling Jos Buttler's side for a paltry 110 and chasing it down with 10 wickets in hand.

Ravi Teja's last IPL appearance was in 2013 when he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He scored just 10 runs in the run chase. Overall, he has scored 375 runs from 32 games in his IPL career at an average of 19.74 including one half-century.

Over the years, Ravi Teja has delivered notable performances in the domestic circuit but did not play for India. He recently played for Meghalaya in the Ranji Trophy 2022. Against Gujarat, the Meghalaya opener scored 133 to reduce the margin of runs in the innings defeat.

The right-handed batter has scored 4,722 runs at an average of 41.06 in First-Class cricket including 12 centuries and 22 half-centuries.

On the other hand, Kohli is currently struggling to get big runs. In the recently-concluded T20I series, he could not deliver and got out early in both innings. It is yet to be seen whether he has regained full fitness ahead of the second ODI at Lord's, London on July 14.
