The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 mega auction is around the corner and there are speculations that Royal Challengers Bengaluru will go for India wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul. Rahul who is leading Lucknow Super Giants since 2022 was seen having an heated argument with franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka during IPL 2024. Since then rumours are claiming that Rahul will leave the Lucknow-based franchise and now former RCB wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik's statement sparked speculations that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will go for the 32-year-old wicketkeeper batter. 
 

Dinesh Karthik, who played for RCB in IPL 2024, retired after the season ended. After this, RCB made him the mentor of the team. RCB mentor Karthik was asked on Cricbuzz who should win the IPL trophy first between Virat Kohli and KL Rahul.

Responding to this question, Karthik said, "Virat Kohli is a part of my team. I pray to God that Virat Kohli wins the trophy first." Further, Karthik said, "If KL Rahul is in the team, it will be better."

 

KL Rahul was recently featured in the two-test match series against Bangladesh where he scored 16 and 22* in the first Test match and 68 runs in the second Test match. KL will now feature for India in the upcoming three-test match series against New Zealand.
