Wasim Jaffer, Zaheer Khan troll each other with old screenshots of scorecards on Twitter

Two former teammates and friends who played for India poked fun at each other with a series of tweets. One of them is a magician with ball in hand whereas the other is a batting stalwart and a legend in domestic cricket. In their playing days, they were one of the most technically sound cricketers and now they are taking over social media with their banter winning hearts of cricket fans.

The series of tweets started when Zaheer as he mentioned in a tweet about Rohit Sharma winning three consecutive tosses in the recently concluded three-T20I series against New Zealand. The southpaw was also promoting Rario's non-fungible tokens in his tweet.

The left-arm pacer tweeted: “Still can't believe India won three out of three tosses in the recent series. Did the coins have a secret chip, just like the currency notes? Just kidding, can you recall more such rare moments? PS: Only Cricketers can reply”.

In reply, Jaffer replied with a screenshot of scorecard where the part-time bowler had taken the same number of wickets as the 43-year-old. The scorecard was of a Test match played in 2022 between Sourav Ganguly-led India and West Indies in Antigua. Ganguly used all 11 players as bowlers as wickets were hard to come by in the innings.

Zaheer was not in a mood to give in to Jaffer’s Twitter game and found a scorecard where he had scored more runs than Jaffer. The former Indian opener had bagged a 15-ball duck against the same opponent whereas Zaheer had scored six runs from 12 deliveries he faced.

Zaheer replied: “Equally rare is Zaheer Khan outscoring @WasimJaffer14 in not one but both innings of a test match!

More banter can be expected from the former Indian cricketers. While Zaheer is not that frequent on the social media platform, Jaffer is known for his witty tweets and memes.
