Story Highlights:

Prithvi Shaw was involved in a heated exchange with Musheer Khan during warm-up match

Shaw was dismissed for 181 by Musheer Khan

Prithvi Shaw was seen hurling his bat towards Musheer Khan after getting dismissed for 181 during the first day of the warm-up match between Maharashtra and Mumbai at the MCA stadium in Pune. The 25-year-old played a remarkable knock and smacked Mumbai bowlers all around the park. However, after being dismissed, Musheer was seen giving him a send-off and this left Shaw agitated. After swinging his bat towards him, the batter was involved in verbal exchanges with multiple Mumbai players.

The umpires eventually intervened in order to stop the altercation from becoming even worse and pulled the players apart. As he was heading towards the pavilion, Shaw was stopped by Mumbai's Siddhesh Lad and the two started arguing again. The tempers finally were calmed down once Shaw departed back to the dugout.

Shaw and Kulkarni caused carnage against Mumbai

Coming to the match, Shaw had opened the innings for Maharashtra alongside Arshin Kulkarni during the match and the two went on to absolutely decimate the opposing bowling attack. They formed a mammoth opening stand of 305 runs with Kulkarni clearly being the aggressor and scoring runs at quite a fast pace.

Both of them went on to score hundreds and Kulkarni was eventually dismissed after scoring 186 runs from just 140 deliveries as Mumbai finally got their first wicket of the match. However, the wicket didn't stop Shaw from scoring runs and he soon went on to surpass the 150-run mark. He looked set to score an unbelievable doube-hundred, but was denied by Musheer from doing so.

Shaw's massive improvement

Meanwhile, Shaw has drastically improved his from ever since leaving Mumbai and joining Mharashtra earlier this year. He went on to slam a century in his debut knock for the side in the Buchi Babu tournament in August and followed that up with a gritty half-century in the next match. He has now followed that up by playing an incredible inning of 181 against Mumbai. The 25-year-old will be hoping to maintain this form especially with the Ranji Trophy set to begin from October 15.
