Tamil Nadu's emerging pacer Deepesh Devendran dropped a sensational performance while playing for Siechem Madurai Panthers in the Tamil Nadu Premier League on Wednesday, July 7. The young pacer recorded a whopping pace of 146kph in his debut game in the tournament.

Deepesh made an impressive maiden appearance in the competition, finishing the game with an impressive figures of 1/25 from his four-over spell. More than the wicket, however, it was his talent to generate serious speed that caught everyone's attention, with the speedster clocking over 140kph during the outing.
The highlight of Deepesh's spell arrived when he sent Jafar Jamal's middle stump flying with a furious 143kph delivery. The sheer pace caught the batter off guard, beating his defence before crashing into the stumps.

Deepesh saved some of his best deliveries for the last over of his spell, clocking 146 kph with the very first delivery of the 16th over. He breached the 140 kph mark for three more times, troubling the batters with his raw speed while giving away only two runs.
Deepesh's significant height also allowed him to extract extra bounce from the pitch, adding another obstacle for the opposition batters along with his lethal pace.
Deepesh's rise on the big stage
The young pacer had already made his presence felt on the big stage as part of India's U19 World Cup-winning squad earlier this year. Deepesh clinched six wickets across five appearances in the tournament with two of those coming in the final game against England.
In the U19 Asia Cup, Deepesh managed to become the leading wicket-taker of the tournament last year, registering 14 wickets in five games at an economy rate of 11.92 and a strike rate of 15. In India U19's tour of Australia, Deepesh continued to impress everyone with his wicket-taking ability, claiming 10 wickets, with the help of a five-wicket haul in the first Youth Test in Brisbane.
